Nubian pyramids were built by the rulers of the Kushite .The area of the Nile valley known as Nubia, which lies within present day Sudan.255 Nubian known pyramids were built. Archaeologists in Sudan are unearthing one of the world’s oldest civilisations .The earliest Sudanese civilisation – known as Ta-Sety (“the Land of the Archers’ Bow”) to the ancient Egyptians and Kerma to modern archaeologists – is one of the most ancient African urban cultures. What’s clear is that Kerma’s civilisation emerged out of an ancient pastoral culture that had flourished in that part of Sudan since at least 7000 B.C. Nearby Kerma archaeologists have discovered one of the two oldest cemeteries ever found dating back to 7500 B.C.The oldest evidence of cattle domestication ever found in Sudan the Egyptian Nile Valley or the world. Kerma was an extraordinarily prosperous empire. It was an advanced African state which established itself very successfully as a middle-man between sub-Saharan Africa and Egypt. Archaeologists have been unearthing truly wonderful works of art in Kerma – everything from model hippopotami, lions, giraffes, falcons, vultures, scorpions and crocodiles made of faience, mica, ivory and quartz to bracelets, ear decorations and necklaces made of gold, shell and faience. Kerma ceramics are among the most elegant from the ancient world. The pyramids eventually constructed at three sites in Nubia over a period of a few hundred years to serve as tombs for the kings and queens. The Nubian people in the Nile Valley likely came from Sudan, as well as the Sahara and there was shared culture with the two areas and with that of Egypt during this time period.Megaliths discovered at Nabta Playa are early examples of what seems to be one of the world's first astronomical devices, predating Stonehenge by almost 2,000 years. This complexity as observed at Nabta Playa, and as expressed by different levels of authority within the society there, likely formed the basis for the structure of both Neolithic society at Nabta and the Old Kingdom of Egypt.
